Lanzarote Multi-Activity Holiday with CycleFriendly
Wednesday 30th March to Wednesday 6th April 2022

Now that Covid restrictions are more relaxed, travel to The Canary Islands is less complicated and safer. So, it’s a good time to return to Lanzarote for bright blue skies and warm (20degC+) sunshine. It’s a great break from grey skies and the weekly grind – an opportunity to keep or get fit in wonderful surroundings and experience activities you already enjoy or ones with which you would like to experiment. Just 4 hours away, come to the magical island of Lanzarote.
This exciting holiday comprises 7 wonderful days of optional activities on this amazing island with its wild and mountainous North; the cultural centre with stunning seascapes; its National Park with its profusion of lava fields and volcanoes; and the volcanic South of wild coastlines, a green lagoon, mountain pass and remote beaches.
Lanzarote is the fourth largest island in the Canary Islands, an archipelago just 60 miles off the West African coast and just outside the tropics.
With the cooling breeze for which Lanzarote is noted, the climate is very comfortable all year with temperatures rarely rising above 30 degC but with daily maximums rarely falling below 20 deg C even in winter (which feels like a good English spring). Evenings are always pleasant and nights rarely sticky and humid as they can be in Spain in the hot months. Lanzarote is the driest of the Canary Islands with only 6 inches of rain a year giving it that semi-arid exotic feel.
The island is just 60 km in length and 25 km at its widest point. Despite being mostly peppered with dormant volcanoes and lava fields, the island has an amazing variety of magnificent scenery and a stunning and varied coastline and contrary to general perception has all shades of sand from white through golden brown to black.
Cycling and hiking is exhilarating with constant wide vistas of volcanic landscapes and seascapes. Of course there are many other outside activities to enjoy including swimming, kayaking and diving. Although exposed to the elements, rain is rare in any month, the sun is strong but perfect for outside activities particularly in March/April despite the occasional infamous Lanzarote breeze.
There are so many things to see, both natural and man-made. Development has been strongly influenced and contained by the late artist Cesar Manrique who ensured that touristic development was congruous to the natural surroundings. Many of the attractions have been designed or influenced by this artist and his influence remains to this day.
